Brave; the tale of female empowerment.

So... Pixar does it again!

I thought about giving this one a chance and there it goes, I watched it last night with my sisters. Worst seating, but the movie was amazing. I mean, Disney/Pixar making a fairy tale/adventure type movie? I'm sold. Not only that, this is Pixar's first main female protagonist. Plus, a badass red-headed woman with bow and cape and Scottish? Sweet heaven, I'm in love. Merida is also going to be added to the Disney Princesses, so I'm just too excited. She is a wonderful heroine, and probably a daughter of Apollo oh gods. Everything about Brave is different from the Pixar norm, save the unequaled attention to detail and quality. It's like Brave is a remarkable step into a whole new style of movie, proving the creative teams at Pixar will continue to write their own fate. Sure, Brave is being unlikely Disney, it's being... brave. But I also think that this sort of storytelling is just as acceptable as hitting a story hard, whether it's about hard hitting topics or not.
I thought the lessons about the importance of accepting fate, determinism and destiny is truthfully critical to prevent chaos. The steps to become a prince or princess may be hard but it can united a kingdom! Though the animation is excellent, it is nothing short of what fans have come to expect from Pixar. Yet what does set this film apart is its uniqueness, not only its storry but in its departure from the typical "princess fairytale" that Disney has become synonymous with and in that respect it achieves something wonderful and hopefully the beginning of a new direction for the studio.

(that's rather a long review. I don't usually do review in English, but yeah.)
